Meet The Fearless 5 Task Master
Candice Lindsey
Who is Candice in a nutshell?
I am a wife, mother, and child of God who is outgoing, loud and spunky. I have a servant’s heart which is constantly guiding me to help others and a passion for crafts where I get to express my creativity. These attributes have been extremely useful to me over the years as a mother of two teenage children and a wife of over 20 years.
Where do you stand with Christ as of right now and where do you see your relationship with Him headed?
As a child, I grew up in the church, but it was more religious in nature. It was my husband that was instrumental in helping me understand how to go from religion to a relationship with Christ. I have spent years developing that bond and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. Now that I am strong in my faith and have a clear understanding of what Gods love is like, I have started to shift my focus on being an example for my children. I want my children to be strong and confident in their relationship with Christ and be fearless as well.
Describe what makes you fearless?
I am fearless because of my faith. God desires a relationship with his children and relationships are not one sided. A relationship is defined as a state of being connected and requires give and take. It took me a while to grasp this concept and come to the realization that I needed him always. I had to learn to listen and trust that no matter what I am up against, or situation I am in, I will be okay, because I am a child of God. As I have grown deeper in my faith, I have obtained a better understand that God has met or will meet all my needs. God’s plan is greater than anything that I ever imagined for my life, so I have learned to pray for his guidance and trust his path for me.
What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
It is hard to pinpoint just one but, I would have to say Christmas time holds a lot of fond memories for me from my childhood. As a child it was a magical time of year, we got a break from school, our parents were off from work too, and we received presents! One thing my family did every year was drive around looking at Christmas lights. We would judge them off how loud we “ooh and ahhh”. I may not remember where we went to see the lights or even what they looked like, but I do remember my parents taking the time to load us all in the car and create fun quality time to share.
What makes your bond with your sisters and mom unique?
The thing that makes my bond with my sisters unique is that not all of my sisters where due to biologics. Blended families can be hard because it is up to each individual to choose their level of commitment. It was and is different for me and my sisters because we may not have been born into the same family, but we all chose to be connected and committed to staying close even over the years. As the oldest sister I tried to spend individual time with each of my sisters in order to build a unique and special bond with each of them. We all shared similar past hurts from our individual broken homes but as the oldest I felt it was my job to show them unconditional love and all of our job to rally into a new whole family. Now that we are all older and have different careers, family lifestyles, and adventures, we all still rally together and not only love each but celebrate our differences.
